This is a serene and introspective piece for felt piano and strings, reimagined from my earlier piece, Twilight Clouds.

Siófok is a small town on Lake Balaton in Hungary, where I used to spend a lot of time during the summer. The themes of this piece are inspired by the joyful memories I have of this place.

It was April this year in the time of lock-down and uncertainties, when the idea of this piece came to my mind during a piano improvisation, hence the gloomy mood it has.

I've found the unusual harmonies and melodies - at least compared to the pieces I've written so far - interesting enough to experiment with and I wanted to learn more about symphonic writing too so I decided to orchestrate it.
